The charm is 18K Rose Gold Plated Sterling Silver. 18K Gold Plated Sterling Silver means that there is a layer of 18K Rose Gold over the Sterling Silver charm. The plating process for this charm uses 98.5% pure gold. It is a gem quality plating that is 40 micro inches thick over sterling silver with a fine layer of nickel in between. The fine layer of nickel helps prevent the silver from migrating through the gold to the surface. The nickel layer greatly increases the longevity and durability of the gold plate.
All of the necklace chains are 14/20 Rose Gold Filled Chains. 14/20 Gold Filled Chains means that 1/20th of the necklace is 14k Gold. Unlike the name suggests, Gold Filled is actually a thicker layer of 14K Gold on the base metal. Gold Filled offers both durability and beauty similar to 14K Gold, but at a fraction of the cost.
